If you’re an Indian, South Asian, or Desi man searching for a South Asian dating coach who actually understands your situation, you’ve probably noticed something. Most dating advice on the internet is written for white American men in their 20s with no family pressure, no arranged marriage context, and no demographic disadvantage on dating apps.

That advice is incomplete.

The man handling a conversation with his parents about why he isn’t engaged yet, who opened Hinge last week and got three matches despite a strong profile, who is a software engineer or doctor, or lawyer, and can’t figure out why professional success hasn’t translated into dating success: that man is not the default audience for most dating content. He’s the exact person this guide is written for.

JT Tran coaching Indian and Desi men since 2005

A few things you’re likely dealing with that generic advice doesn’t touch: family pressure around marriage timing operating on a completely different timeline than Western dating culture; cultural identity tension between what your parents expect and what you actually want; dating app data consistently showing South Asian men at the bottom of match rates; and the model minority stereotype that frames you as professionally successful while rendering you romantically invisible.

You didn’t imagine any of that. The data backs it up.

My name is JT Tran. I’m a Vietnamese American, born in Texas, 5’4″, and I founded the first coaching company in the United States built specifically for Asian American men. I started coaching in 2005. Over 20 years, I’ve worked with hundreds of Indian, South Asian, and Desi men: engineers, doctors, cybersecurity consultants, lawyers, tech founders, and a few guys who just wanted to figure out why they kept getting friend-zoned. The cultural context for Vietnamese American and Indian American experiences is genuinely different. But the structural challenges Asian men face in Western dating markets overlap heavily enough that the work transfers.

This guide covers what Indian, South Asian, and Desi men specifically deal with in modern dating, what the research actually shows about dating app dynamics for this demographic, what generic dating advice gets wrong, and what coaching specifically addresses. Read it as a diagnostic, not a sales pitch.

What Indian, South Asian, and Desi Men Actually Face in Modern Dating

South Asian men face a specific combination of dating challenges in the West. Family pressure around marriage timing. Dating app discrimination data showing lower match rates. Cultural identity tension between immigrant family expectations and Western dating norms. The model minority stereotype that frames South Asian men as professionally successful and romantically invisible simultaneously.

That combination is different from what other Asian demographics face, and different again from what white American men face.

Family pressure around marriage comes from care and from a tradition that has worked across generations. However, it creates a specific problem for men trying to build dating confidence in Western markets. Most Western dating culture assumes you have indefinite time to figure things out. For Indian and Desi men, that clock runs differently.

Depending on your family background and how recently your parents immigrated, you may be fielding active pressure to marry by 28, to consider a match from your community, or to bring home a partner your parents would recognize as appropriate. That pressure is real regardless of how Westernized you are. Furthermore, it pushes men toward outcomes before they’ve built the underlying skills to choose well.

Arranged marriages are part of this conversation for many clients. Some came to a South Asian dating coach after trying arranged marriage introductions through family or community matchmakers, then decided they wanted choice in their partner instead. Others arrived having never engaged with the arranged marriage process at all. They knew from the start they wanted to choose their own partner. The pattern across both groups is the same, whether the client comes from a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, or Christian background: they want agency. They want their family relationship to remain intact, and they want to bring someone home who they actually chose.

Coaching addresses both halves of that. The cultural conversation with parents gets clearer when you know what you actually want. The dating skills get easier to develop when the family piece isn’t constantly running as unresolved tension. The path forward varies by client. Some land on a modern version of arranged marriage where the family helps but the client decides. Some negotiate a pre arranged marriage timeline rather than accept the original one. Others step fully into Western-style dating. The coaching work is the same across all three: get the identity layer clear first, then build the social skills second.

The cultural identity tension compounds this. Many South Asian men who grew up in the US or Canada live between two sets of expectations: parents who envision one type of partner, personal desires that may point somewhere else entirely, pressure to prioritize stability and family approval, and personal attraction that doesn’t always follow those criteria. Getting clear on what you actually want, separate from what you’ve been conditioned to want, is foundational to dating successfully in either cultural context.

The dating app data shows a structural disadvantage.

South Asian dating coach OkCupid match rate data for Indian men

South Asian dating coach OkCupid match rate data for Indian men

OkCupid’s internal research on race and attraction, first published in 2009 and updated in 2014, showed Indian men receiving some of the lowest response rates from women across all ethnicities on the platform. The pattern held across age groups and income levels. Independent research analyzing Tinder match distribution (Tyson et al., 2016 IEEE/ACM proceedings) found significant variation by ethnicity, with South Asian men among the lower-performing demographics on swipe-based platforms.

Additionally, Hinge’s own published data on what drives match rates points to photos, prompts, and bio quality as the highest-return variables, which is consistent with the strategic implication: for South Asian men, profile quality matters more because the baseline match rate is lower.

Secondary coverage in The Atlantic, Vox, and NPR documented the OkCupid findings at the time of publication. If you’ve read that coverage and felt seen by it, you were seeing real data, not a narrative.

The model minority stereotype backfires specifically in dating contexts. The very attributes that create professional success, deference to authority, academic focus, staying in your lane, get read in dating contexts as low dominance, low social presence, and low sexual confidence. You built the resume. You got the job. However, the skills that got you there actively work against you in markets that reward a different set of signals.

For the full framework on online dating optimization for Asian men, the ADC online dating guide covers the tactical execution in detail.

What Generic Dating Advice Gets Wrong for South Asian Men

Generic dating advice usually assumes a default audience: white American men in their 20s and 30s with no significant family pressure and no demographic disadvantage on dating apps. Key parts of that advice actively backfire when applied without cultural context.

Generic dating advice fails Indian Desi men without cultural calibration

Generic dating advice fails Indian Desi men without cultural calibration

“Just be confident” ignores where confidence actually comes from. Confidence in dating comes from reference experiences: approaches that went well, dates that led somewhere, interactions where you felt like yourself, and it worked. If you grew up in a household where dating was deprioritized relative to academic performance, you have fewer of those experiences than the default audience. Therefore, the confidence comes from building the skill, not from deciding to feel differently.

“Cold approach” advice ignores demographic discrimination realities. A white man cold approaching a woman starts from a neutral or positive prior. An Indian or Desi man approaching the same woman may start from a prior shaped by the model minority stereotype or simple unfamiliarity. Cold approach works for South Asian men, but it requires stronger social confidence and better calibration. Generic advice that skips this reality sets men up for discouraging early results they misattribute to personal failure.

“Be yourself” ignores the model minority trap. If the authentic self your professional environment rewarded is deferential, non-confrontational, and self-effacing, then being yourself in dating contexts will often produce the friend zone. Building dating-relevant social skills makes you more complete, not less authentic. The version of yourself optimized for academic and professional success is not the version optimized for dating, and that gap is a skills gap, not a character flaw.

“Dating is a numbers game” misses why volume strategies need adjustment. Generic advice assumes roughly equal conversion rates across demographics. For South Asian men dealing with lower app match rates and cold approach priors shaped by stereotypes, the raw numbers required to produce the same outcomes are higher. The adjustment: invest in the quality of each interaction and diversify channels so no single channel, especially apps, carries the full load.

The adjustments that produce results across hundreds of coaching clients are consistent. Identity clarity comes first. Channel diversification, apps plus social circle plus in-person, produces more consistent results than any single channel. Profile investment returns more for South Asian men because photos and bio quality matter more when starting from a lower match-rate baseline. Additionally, social confidence responds to structured practice. A coach who understands these dynamics can calibrate general frameworks to your situation rather than asking you to fit advice that was never designed for you.

What South Asian Dating Coaching Actually Looks Like

Coaching for Indian, South Asian, and Desi men starts with context, not tactics. Where are you from, what did your household communicate about dating, what does your family expect right now, what do you actually want. Most clients arrive with those questions partially unexamined. The family expectation layer and the personal desire layer have been running in parallel for years without being separated explicitly.

That separation matters because it determines the actual target. A man whose family expects a Brahmin woman from a specific region and whose personal attraction runs somewhere entirely different is solving a different problem than a man whose family pressure is general and manageable. Coaching has to start with the actual target, not the assumed one.

A man who skips the identity work arrives at dates with an internal conflict women pick up on immediately. He presents as uncertain, not about professional competence, but about whether he’s allowed to pursue what he actually wants. That uncertainty reads as low confidence. Once the identity layer is clear, social skills practice has a target, app optimization has a clear brief, and in-person approaches have a purpose.

The coaching system.

ABCDEF System South Asian dating coach framework

ABCDEF System South Asian dating coach framework

The system used across ABCs of Attraction and ADC is the ABCDEF System: a phase-by-phase framework covering Attitude and Approach, Banter and Buying Temperature, Compliance and Comfort, Dominance and Direct Intent, Evaluate and Extract, and the F Phase. For South Asian clients, the A Phase carries extra weight. Attitude work addresses the model minority trap directly: the shift from “professionally successful, romantically invisible” to a self-concept that integrates both. The B Phase is where most Indian and Desi men grow fastest. Most are sharper than they present socially, because the environments that rewarded them didn’t reward social spontaneity. Unlocking that is often the fastest visible change.

Coaching runs at multiple levels. The ADC Academy is the self-paced starting point. One-on-one coaching with JT provides direct access calibrated to your specific situation. ABCs of Attraction bootcamps run in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Las Vegas, Nashville, Toronto, and Boston: three days of in-person coaching with field practice. Most South Asian clients describe the bootcamp as the point where the framework stopped being intellectual and became physical.

Coaching raises your floor. A South Asian dating coach can’t eliminate the structural disadvantages South Asian men face on dating apps, and won’t resolve family pressure on your behalf. What changes is how you respond to both: strategically on apps, clearly in family conversations, and with the same sustained effort that produced your professional outcomes.

Indian, South Asian, and Desi Student Success Stories

Over 20 years of coaching, the clients who show up most consistently are high-achieving South Asian men who have figured out everything except this. Many came specifically looking for a South Asian dating coach who’d understand the cultural layer without making them explain it from scratch. Engineers who negotiated six-figure salaries but freeze on a first date. Doctors who run a residency program but go blank approaching a woman at a coffee shop.

The professional achievement is real. The dating gap is real. Additionally, the gap closes the same way the professional achievement happened: through structured skill development, consistent practice, and honest feedback from someone who’s seen the pattern before.

Sid, Washington DC Bootcamp

Sid came into the DC bootcamp with a specific question he asked out loud on day one: would a program built around Asian men’s challenges actually apply to him as an Indian man? By day two he had his answer. The cultural overlap between Asian American and Indian American social conditioning is real.

“Whatever they were talking about with Asian culture,” he told me, “I could relate to my culture too.” What changed most visibly was physical. The body language work, how you occupy space, how you carry yourself before you’ve said a word: he described the shift from day one to day three as a physical change in how he moved through a room. Not a memorized technique.

Vic, Canada

Vic spent two years trying to work this out alone: reading everything, thinking through it, grinding at the problem without a framework. What finally got him to book was watching a friend, same minority background, same starting point, go through ABCs quietly and come out the other side noticeably different. What Vic took from coaching wasn’t a set of lines to run. His whole frame shifted. The question stopped being “what’s wrong with me” and became “what’s the system and how do I build on it.”

The Coaching in Action

Skills practice produces results that are visible in the moment. The infield footage below shows an Indian student executing what the coaching framework teaches: identity clarity translated into social presence, social presence translated into a real interaction with a real outcome. Six seconds of proof that the work transfers.

How to Choose the Best South Asian Dating Coach

A South Asian dating coach worth your money does five things: acknowledges the demographic-specific challenges honestly, has documented experience coaching men from your background, teaches frameworks rather than scripts, includes practical implementation and not just theory, and doesn’t promise unrealistic outcomes or rely on manipulation tactics.

A South Asian dating coach who tells you that race doesn’t matter in dating, that confidence alone overcomes every structural disadvantage, and that the data on South Asian men’s match rates is irrelevant because mindset is everything is either uninformed or selling you something. The data exists. The structural challenges are real. A coach worth working with acknowledges them directly and then focuses on what’s actually under your control.

Ask directly how many Indian, South Asian, or Desi men a coach has worked with. What were their starting situations? What changed? If the answer is vague, the experience is thin. JT has coached hundreds of South Asian men over 20 years. The cultural context is understood from thousands of hours of direct coaching conversations, not from theory.

Scripts are the fastest path to coaching dependency and the slowest path to actual dating competence. A framework gives you the underlying logic of why certain approaches work, which lets you adapt in real time to actual situations. Therefore, ask a coach: What do I do when the opener doesn’t land the way you described? If the answer is another script, find a different coach.

Any coach who promises a specific number of dates per week or a guaranteed girlfriend within a fixed timeframe is not being straight with you. Dating involves another person with her own preferences, timing, and judgment. No system controls for that. The better standard: does this coach teach me to be genuinely more attractive, more confident, and more socially skilled?

Frequently Asked Questions: South Asian Dating Coaching for Indian and Desi Men

1. Are Indian and South Asian men actually at a disadvantage on dating apps?

Yes. OkCupid’s internal research, published in 2009 and updated in 2014, showed Indian men receiving some of the lowest response rates across all male demographics. Independent analysis of Tinder match distribution found similar patterns. Profile optimization, app selection, and in-person channels matter more for South Asian and Desi men because the baseline match rate is lower.

2. Is JT Tran an Indian dating coach or a Desi dating coach?

JT Tran is Vietnamese American. He’s coached hundreds of Indian, South Asian, and Desi men since 2005. The cultural context differs, but the structural challenges Asian men face in Western dating markets overlap heavily. His coaching addresses family pressure dynamics, the model minority trap, and cultural identity tension specific to South Asian men.

3. Do Indian, South Asian, and Desi men need specialized dating coaching?

Specialized coaching helps because the challenges are specific: family pressure around marriage timing, cultural identity tension, demographic-level dating app discrimination, and the model minority stereotype. A South Asian dating coach who understands these dynamics calibrates general frameworks to your situation rather than asking you to fit advice that wasn’t designed for you.

4. Can a South Asian dating coach help if my family pressures me about marriage?

Yes. A significant portion of early coaching involves separating family expectations from personal desire. Coaching helps you clarify what you actually want, develop the communication skills to handle family conversations on your terms, and build a strategy aligned with your actual goals, not the assumed ones.

5. Can a South Asian dating coach help with arranged marriage decisions?

Yes. Many clients come to coaching while actively engaged with arranged marriages through family or community matchmakers. Others arrive while their family pushes them toward a pre arranged marriage timeline they don’t fully agree with. Coaching doesn’t push you toward or away from arranged marriage as a path. The work helps you get clear on what you actually want.

That might be a modern version of arranged marriage where you have real choice in the process. It might be negotiating the timeline your family expects. Or it might be stepping fully into Western-style dating with the family conversation handled directly. Once that clarity is in place, the family conversation gets easier and the dating skills get easier to develop. Clients across Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christian backgrounds have worked through this same question, and the framework applies across all four.

6. What’s the difference between a South Asian dating coach and a general dating coach?

General coaching teaches frameworks that work for any man. South Asian dating coaching applies those frameworks to the specific demographic context: family dynamics, cultural identity tension, app discrimination patterns, and the model minority intersection. The frameworks don’t change. The application does.

7. Are there dating coaches specifically for Punjabi, Tamil, Bengali, or Gujarati men?

Most coaches working with South Asian and Desi men cover the broader demographic rather than splitting by ethnicity. Dating dynamics operate mostly at the demographic level. Cultural specifics, including family marriage expectations and regional identity dynamics, get addressed in individual coaching conversations.

8. Is a South Asian dating coach worth it for an Indian or Desi man making six figures?

Yes, when the gap between professional achievement and dating outcomes feels unjustified. The model minority myth associates your demographic with professional success and romantic invisibility simultaneously. Most ABCs and ADC clients are high-achieving professionals. Furthermore, the same work ethic that produced the career compounds into dating skill when applied consistently.

9. How long does South Asian dating coaching take to produce results?

Some clients see changes within weeks: confidence shifts, profile improvements, first dates that don’t end in friend-zoning. Serious relationship outcomes typically take months to over a year. Most ABCs and ADC clients commit to six to twelve months. Results compound in proportion to consistent effort.

10. What does a South Asian dating coach actually cost?

The ADC Academy starts at a lower price point for self-paced learning. One-on-one coaching with JT runs $3,750 to $5,000. In-person bootcamps run $1,500 to $2,500 depending on city. Most clients start with a free coaching call to evaluate fit before committing to a paid program.

11. Who is JT Tran?

JT Tran helps Indian, South Asian, and Desi men build dating confidence when generic advice ignores the family pressure, cultural identity, and dating app discrimination data that shape their specific situation. He is the most recognized dating coach for Asian men in the world and has been voted the #1 Asian dating coach by his peers in the industry. A former aerospace engineer based in Los Angeles, JT has spoken on dating psychology at Harvard, Yale, and Wharton, and been featured on ABC Nightline with Juju Chang. He also founded ABCs of Attraction in 2005, building it into the dating coaching company responsible for more than 100 alumni marriages.

12. What is Asian Dating Coach?

Asian Dating Coach helps South Asian men, whether Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Nepali, Sri Lankan, or Desi, navigate the dating challenges generic advice doesn’t address: family expectations around arranged marriages and pre arranged marriage timelines, religious and community expectations from Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christian backgrounds, dating app data that consistently shows South Asian men at the bottom of match rates, the model minority stereotype that frames professional success as romantic invisibility, and the cultural identity tension between immigrant family expectations and Western dating norms.

Operating under JT Tran since 2022, the platform builds on more than 20 years of coaching Asian men in Western dating markets. Asian Dating Coach has worked with thousands of clients across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Asia, including engineers, physicians, lawyers, and tech founders. The platform runs through online programs, one-on-one coaching with JT, and in-person bootcamps in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, and other major cities.

Twenty years of coaching Indian, South Asian, and Desi men produces a pattern that’s hard to miss. The men who arrive are not failing professionally. They’re not failing socially in every context. They’re failing in one specific area, and the failure feels disproportionate to their actual ability because it is. The gap between professional achievement and dating outcomes for high-achieving South Asian men is a skills gap, compounded by structural pressures that most dating advice was never designed to address.

That gap closes. It closes the same way any skills gap closes: through honest diagnosis, structured practice, and feedback from someone who has seen the pattern enough times to know what actually moves the needle.

If you’ve read this far, you already know more about your specific situation than most men who come to a South Asian dating coach for the first time. The next step is a conversation.

Schedule a Free Coaching Call

If you’re an Indian, South Asian, or Desi man ready to stop guessing what works and start with a coach who has been doing this work for 20 years, schedule a free coaching call. Tell us your situation, where you are, what you’ve tried, what hasn’t worked. We’ll evaluate whether coaching is the right fit and which format makes the most sense.

No pitch. No pressure. A direct conversation about your situation and what’s actually likely to help.

Schedule a free coaching call

Start with the Academy

If you’d rather understand the full framework before committing to a call, the ABCs of Attraction Academy covers the complete coaching system through video lessons you can work through on your own schedule. The first 30 days are free. No credit card required to start.

Attend an In-Person Bootcamp

If you’re ready for in-person training, ABCs of Attraction runs bootcamps in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Las Vegas, Nashville, Toronto, and Boston. Three days of field coaching with real-world practice. For most clients, the bootcamp is the point where the framework stops being intellectual and becomes physical.

Navigating the complex social landscape, Asian American men often face unique challenges rooted in cultural nuances and societal expectations. A heated discussion on  Ice White’s @GameGlobalOfficial delves into these intricacies through the insights of experienced Asian dating coaches. Their discussion covers internalized racism and limiting beliefs among Asian Americans, the impact of China’s one-child policy, and the cultural nuances affecting Asian men’s dating experiences. They offer valuable advice on overcoming these challenges through personal anecdotes and professional insights.

In this article, we highlight JT Tran’s specific answers to the panel’s questions, wherein he shares personal stories and professional perspectives in addressing these issues. Moreover, we explore JT Tran’s essential guidance on embracing individual strengths and fostering confidence in social interactions, pivotal strategies for surmounting these challenges.

Q: As Asian Dating coaches what kinds of issues do Asians come to you for that are somewhat unique or common to Asians?

JT Tran notes that Asian Americans often harbor limiting beliefs and internalized racism. In contrast, students from Asia who immigrate to the US typically lack these preconceptions and simply need to adapt to American dating norms. However, for those born in the US, even if they possess desirable traits like height and attractiveness, they may still struggle due to ingrained beliefs that they are inferior to white or black men. This deeply ingrained mindset is a significant hurdle.

Q: In China, the one-child policy lasted from 1979 to 2015. This has led to claims about male preference and social imbalances. Have you noticed any side effects from this policy?

In response to inquiries regarding the side effects of China’s one-child policy, JT Tran sheds light on a phenomenon known as “Little Emperor syndrome,” observed among many Chinese students he coaches. He explains that these individuals, accustomed to being pampered by their parents and sheltered from life’s responsibilities, often struggle to adapt to independent living when they move to the United States. JT Tran underscores the challenges faced by these individuals in navigating the transition from the Asian motherland to American society, particularly in terms of acquiring essential life skills necessary for dating and social interactions. This discrepancy highlights a significant hurdle for Asian men seeking to integrate into Western dating culture.

Q: “I’m a 31 year old virgin male. How do I start dating with seeming desperate and inexperienced?”

When addressing a query from a 31-year-old virgin seeking dating advice, JT Tran discerns a desire for sophisticated socialization coupled with apprehension about appearing desperate. Tran identifies a potential inclination toward perfectionism yet lacks the resilience to handle rejection. This means that this person has high expectations but low resilience which means he wants to be perfect but he’s not going to be able to like withstand the slings and arrows of rejection because he hasn’t faced it. He emphasizes the necessity of embracing challenges and dispels notions of a flawless approach to dating. Instead, he advocates for facing rejection head-on, likening the process to conquering the “cringe mountain.” Tran encourages seeking guidance from available resources while acknowledging the uniqueness of individual experiences, ultimately stressing the importance of finding personalized strategies for success in dating endeavors. The key is to get out there, face rejections, and learn from them. Utilize free resources online to improve, but accept that progress involves uncomfortable and awkward experiences.

“Embrace cringe mountain just get out there and don’t have this attitude like oh I’m going to learn this highly sophisticated high-level kind of game where I’ll never be rejected you know I’ll be able to get over my problems because I found that perfect strategy or tactic. There is no perfect strategy, there’s no perfect tactic each person is unique and you have to find what works specific to your situation”

Q: What differences have you observed between Americanized Asians and non-Americanized Asians in dating?

When asked about differences between Americanized and non-Americanized Asians in dating, JT Tran advocates for an open-minded approach to dating. He encourages his students to be receptive to relationships with women of all ethnicities, including Asian, Black, White, and Latina. Tran highlights the diversity of preferences among American-born Asian women, noting that a significant portion may choose to marry outside their ethnic group. He emphasizes the importance of understanding individual preferences and avoiding assumptions based on ethnicity. Tran acknowledges the global nature of the dating community, noting variations in social media usage between different regions. Ultimately, he calls for inclusivity and openness in dating interactions, regardless of racial background.

“I think the best bet is for any Asian guys out there that just want to learn dating is like just be open to dating approaching you know all women regardless of their race”

Q: How does height affect dating, especially given stereotypes that East Asians are smaller?

JT acknowledges his height, standing at 5’5”, which he considers to be on the shorter side, particularly in Western societies where there is a strong preference for taller individuals. He advises his students to exude a commanding presence in their approach to dating, suggesting that they adopt a more dominant demeanor than they may be accustomed to. JT emphasizes the importance of personality, charisma, and charm in overcoming stereotypes and height preferences. While acknowledging that some women may always prefer taller men, he believes that individuals can compensate through their personality and presence, giving the perception of being larger than life.

”Know that there will still be women who will always prefer a tall guy regardless, but there are ways to at least from your personality give them the perception, the feeling that you are larger than life” – JT Tran

JT Tran’s insights shed light on the unique challenges Asian men face in the dating world. From overcoming internalized racism to navigating cultural differences and societal biases, his advice emphasizes confidence, self-improvement, and openness to diverse dating experiences. Embracing these principles can help Asian men develop a more successful and fulfilling dating life.

As an Asian man navigating the dating world, you may find yourself asking whether you should choose an Asian dating coach or a Caucasian dating coach. While there are many skilled dating coaches out there, there are several unique reasons why an Asian dating coach might be the best fit for you. In this article, we will discuss 24 reasons to consider choosing an Asian dating coach to guide you on your dating journey.

1. Science Proves It

Numerous studies have shown that when a patient and a counselor share the same ethnic background, the results and well-being of the patient are significantly higher. This is due to a deeper understanding of the cultural nuances, traditions, and values that shape an individual’s life experiences. When working with an Asian dating coach, Asian men can feel more comfortable discussing their unique challenges and perspectives with someone who truly understands them. As a result, they are more likely to develop trust, engage in open communication, and effectively work towards their dating goals. By choosing a dating coach who shares your background, you are setting yourself up for greater success in your journey towards finding love and building meaningful relationships.

2. Cultural Understanding

An Asian dating coach will have a deeper understanding of your cultural background, upbringing, and the unique experiences that come with being an Asian man in the dating world. This shared cultural experience can lead to a more empathetic and effective coaching relationship, as the coach can provide advice tailored to your specific background.

3. Empathy for Your Struggles

An Asian dating coach has likely experienced many of the same struggles and challenges you have faced, such as being stereotyped, teased, or even bullied. This personal experience can help them relate to your situation and offer practical, relevant advice to help you overcome these challenges.

4. Reframing Family and Social Expectations

An Asian dating coach can help you reframe your dating journey in a way that is more acceptable to your friends, family, and community. I was born in Texas and so I’m very familiar with the challenges of finding real dating advice for Asian males like myself. The obstacles that some (not all) of us face in USA’s dating market can be disheartening. Every year there is more and more scientific research and empirical studies that actually quantify the challenges Asian men encounter in dating. All you have to do is simply search “Dating advice for Asian males.”

How to Overcome Racism and Find Love: Dating Advice for Asian Males

Asian males are the least desired race among OkCupid users, according to a 2014 OkCupid research. Asian women are the most attractive of all the races on the other end of the spectrum. These kinds of research just serve to corroborate what a lot of us already know to be true: that there is a strong racial component to why we are not viewed favorably by other people.

Yet, I’m here to let you know there is still hope. I’ve coached thousands of Asian guys who were prepared to give up on dating altogether as an Asian Dating Coach. It’s important to keep in mind that we are distinctive individuals with a lot to give; we are not defined by our race. Regardless of race, dating can be a fulfilling and pleasurable experience with the appropriate attitude. The following dating advice for Asian males will assist you in overcoming prejudice and securing the love you deserve.

Racism in Dating is Not Just Your Problem

It’s important to understand that many individuals of all races struggle with dating before you make the mistake of thinking that your race is the only thing stopping you from finding love success. According to a 2018 research, 29% of Americans aged 19 to 30 reported having no sex in that year. This means that millions of men of all races— be he white, African American, Asian, or Hispanic—did not have intercourse in that year.

Numerous factors contribute to this, including the increase in young people living at home. The preference for staying in and binge-watching Netflix over going out and interacting with others. Male users of online dating sites only have a 4% probability of receiving a reply to their messages, and even then, it would take them an average of 18 communications to reach the 50% mark. It’s crucial to keep in mind that you’re not experiencing these difficulties alone.

Be Honest And Direct, Yet Nuanced, To Avoid the Friend Zone

Although being put into the “friend zone” can seem like a love death sentence, it is possible to get out of the friend zone. You must have sincere motives for doing so while also understanding how and why you got there in the first place.

It’s crucial to be upfront about your goals if you’ve been hanging out with a friend or acquaintance and you feel that there might be some sexual connection between you. Do not be hesitant to ask her out, but you should be nuanced about it.

If it’s a coworker or a subordinate at work, you have to be aware of the power dynamics at play. You want to suggest a social meetup  that both changes the dynamic of the situation (you’re not study buddies at the library, you’re having drinks at a romantic lounge) while giving her the freedom to decline if she so chooses (and thereby you having the confidence to gracefully accept said rejection).

So you want to UPSALE a cool meetup and get a range of her availability.

You can say, “Hey Victoria, I just found the most amazing tapas place with the best cocktails. How does your weekend look?” is one example.

Gen Z American Women Are Different

Feminism has had a very strong impact on the dating culture of America. From being both more sexually open, but also that women now have more influence than ever before.

Women are given special consideration when creating dating applications, and bars have developed strategies to rescue women from perilous encounters. Women are now graduating college at higher rates and even making more money than American males, and this newfound equality is changing the rules of dating. Considering this is crucial when pursuing a love interest.

Be mindful of her wants and desires and treat her with respect. Always be upfront about your intentions and abstain from any conduct that might be construed as harassment.

The Main Takeaway: Be Confident and Be Yourself

Being self-assured and authentic is ultimately the secret to dating success. While it’s vital to be aware of the particular difficulties Asian men encounter when dating, it’s equally critical to understand that your uniqueness is your greatest strength. Let your actual self shine through and embrace your distinctive personality, interests, and passions.

In America, unlike some places in Asia perhaps, the males are expected to take the initiative to make the first approach, be it on dating apps or in real life. Leadership and confidence are placed at a much higher premium than traits like humility and silence. And so you want to express yourself and who you are more often and assert yourself, otherwise you’ll fall into the trap of being stereotyped.

And a key dating advice for Asian males is to keep in mind that dating is a numbers game here in the West. Rejection IS an inevitable part of the experience. Don’t view it as a negative experience, rather let it inform you as to what you perhaps did wrong and how you can do it better the next time.

Maybe your opening line was lame. Or your body language was wrong. It could be that your energy was off-putting. Or you had trouble telling an attractive story or hold an interesting conversation. Take that data point to improve yourself. Create a strong feeling of your own worth and resist letting other people determine your worth based on your race.

Above all, treat women with respect and dignity at all times. Refrain from reinforcing harmful preconceptions and make sure that racism and prejudice don’t interfere with how you interact with women. Spend some time learning about and appreciating their perspectives, and be prepared to take everything that you can away from them.

In the end, falling in love is all about making a genuine and meaningful connection with someone. You may increase your chances of obtaining the love and companionship you deserve. Be self-assured, genuine, and polite. So venture forth, be authentic, and don’t be scared to risk falling in love.

Asian men are increasingly using the Gen Z slang term “Rizz,” which stands for “Charisma or Game,” to refer to their tendency to draw in and establish connections with others. To start with, “Charisma” and “game” are two concepts often used within the context of dating and relationships.

Charisma refers to a person’s personal magnetism and charm, and the ability to inspire others and evoke positive feelings. On the other hand, “Game” is a term that refers to the skills, strategies, and techniques that someone uses to successfully navigate the dating world. This can include things like knowing how to start a conversation, how to build rapport and attraction, how to read body language, and how to handle rejection. People who are good at “game” are often seen as confident, charming, and successful in their dating lives.

What is “God Tier Rizz”?

On a more specific point, “God Tier Rizz” generally refers to the highest level of charisma and gaming. It indicates that you possess the ability to captivate and connect with people in a way that makes them want to spend more time with you. An individual with powerful charisma may easily put others at ease, connect with them on an emotional level, and have an impact on their choices. Charisma can be a desirable trait, given that it can help to create a pleasant and joyful experience for both partners when dating.

Asian men may experience particular difficulties when trying to improve their Rizz. For instance, some people may have preconceived notions about Asian males being timid or introverted, which can make it more difficult to exude confidence and charisma. In addition, some Asian males may have racial insecurity, which can hinder their ability to be authentic and connect with others.

A person with strong charisma can easily put others at ease, connect with them on an emotional level, and have an impact on their decisions. Because it can contribute to both couples having a happy and enjoyable dating experience, this can be a desired attribute.

What Is Rizz And How Can Asian Men Get God Tier Rizz 2

How Can Asian Men Achieve God Tier Rizz?

Here are some tips:

  1. Work on your confidence. Confidence is key when it comes to Rizz. If you don’t believe in yourself, it’s going to be hard for others to believe in you. Take the time to work on building your self-esteem and self-worth.
  2. Embrace your Asian identity. Don’t try to be someone you’re not. Own your Asian identity and be proud of it. This will not only help you be more confident, but it will also make you more interesting and unique to others.
  3. Develop your social skills.  Being able to connect with others and put them at ease is the essence of charisma. Spend some time honing your social skills, including how to start a conversation, how to listen actively, and how to read body language.
  4. Be authentic.  When someone is being fake or dishonest, everyone can tell. Be authentic and allow your personality to shine through.
  5. Be open to learning from others. Rizz is a skill that takes time to develop. Be receptive to absorbing advice on how to hone your charisma and game and learn from others.
  6. Practice. Everything improves with practice. The more you connect and mingle, the better you’ll be able to judge what works and doesn’t when it comes to Rizz.
  7. Learn to deal with rejection.  Recognize how to react to rejection. Rejection is inevitable in life and will occur. Don’t take it personally and learn how to handle it in a healthy way.
  8. Be aware of your body language.  You can say a lot with your body language about how you’re feeling and what’s going through your mind. Make sure you’re making eye contact, smiling, and that your body language is welcoming and open.
  9. Be a good listener. People enjoy talking about themselves, therefore learning to listen well is crucial to growing your Rizz. By posing intelligent questions, you can demonstrate that you’re interested in what others are saying.
  10. Lastly, remember that Rizz is not the only thing that matters. It’s important to be a good person and have integrity. Rizz is just a tool to help you connect with others and make friends. You will ultimately be having a fulfilling and happy life.

Finally, having god-tier Rizz as an Asian man is about accepting and appreciating your distinct cultural history and experiences rather than trying to pass for someone you’re not. It involves having self-assurance in your skills and abilities and being able to convey that self-assurance to others. You may work on enhancing your charisma and game by using the advice provided in this article, which will ultimately help you find love and be more successful in life in general.

Remember, Rizz is not just about being smooth with the ladies or landing the perfect job, it’s about being able to navigate the world with grace and poise. It’s about being able to connect with people on a deeper level and building meaningful relationships. So, go out there and show the world your god-tier rizz!

One last piece of advice is to surround yourself with positive, encouraging people who share your values. This can be a community of people who share your values and experiences or a mentorship program. Having a support system can give you a sounding board for when you’re feeling down or need a little additional drive. It can increase your self-confidence and sense of competence.

We all follow different paths to god-tier Rizz, but you may improve yourself by staying loyal to who you are, building your confidence, and surrounding yourself with supportive people. So, go forth and display your god-tier Rizz to the world!

As a once shy man myself, I know the value of gaining social experience with practice and what better way then to give you speed dating tips for Asian guys. And with the pandemic coming to an end and more social events popping up, speed dating is a great opportunity to meet new people and potentially find a romantic connection.

Speed dating is a well-liked dating style in which participants go on a series of brief, multi-minute dates with various possible partners. Meeting new people, engaging in discussion, and assessing potential romantic interest are the objectives of the event. Participants typically have a list of questions or discussion starters and only have a brief window of opportunity to make an impact.
Each participant meets several potential partners throughout the event, typically between 10 and 20, in a single evening. Participants in speed dating indicate on a scorecard whether they want to meet their date again after each round. After finding people with the same interests, the organizer helps them communicate further by pairing them up. A great and quick method to meet new people and possibly find a romantic match is through speed dating events.

I’ve put together some advice that can really assist Asian males succeed in speed dating. Hope this is useful!

10 Speed Dating Tips for Asian Guys

  1. Befriend The Organizer.  The owner or organizer of the speed dating event can teach you a lot. They are used to the participants and frequently have enlightening feedback to provide. If you become friends with them, they might be more ready to help you in the future. They might be able to connect you with other participants or even let you know when something important is about to happen.
  2. Socialize After the Event.  Continue to socialize with people after the event. Usually after the speed dating is over, there will be happy hour and attendees you might not have gotten the chance to talk to could be hanging out. This is a fantastic chance to flirt with them or if there’s someone you liked, you could try to connect with them and even ask for their number (you don’t have to wait for the organizer to give you your scorecard and matches back!). This is a fantastic method to broaden your social network, continue practicing your social skills and you’ll have more opportunities to meet like-minded people.
  3. Have Afterparty Plans. Keeping the conversation continuing and making plans to go somewhere after the speed dating event can be a great idea. Having a destination in mind, whether it be a music venue, speakeasy, tapas bar, or salsa club, may give you and other people something to look forward to. It’s also a great chance to invite others to join you so that you can get to know one another in a more relaxed setting.
  4. Be Confident. The confidence needed for speed dating is high. Don’t be shy about trying to connect with someone; remember that everyone there is wanting to connect with someone. Loudly speak while standing up and addressing the crowd. It will show that you are comfortable in your own skin and give the impression that you are a confident and interesting person to others around you.
  5. Be Yourself. During speed dating, it’s critical to be real. If you make an effort to be someone you’re not, it will be more difficult for you to connect with others. Make a joke or two if you find humor. Discuss a subject that interests you if you’re sincere.
  6. Ask Questions. It’s crucial to participate actively in conversations when speed dating. Ask the other individual about themselves rather than just waiting for them to start talking. This will both demonstrate your interest in getting to know them and provide you with a topic of conversation. The more you can learn about the other person, the better. Keep in mind that speed dating is about building relationships.

If you grew up in the Western world, you might have this niggling feeling that maybe no one likes Asian guys. Maybe you’re familiar with how it feels when women (even Asian women!) say they aren’t attracted to Asian men and won’t date.

Unfortunately, you’re not the only Asian-American man experiencing this. Did you know that more than 90% of non-Asian women declared they would not desire a romantic relationship with an Asian man? So it’s no wonder it might seem no one likes Asian guys.

Sadly, the media is primarily to blame in this situation. In the past, people perceived Asian males as competitors for White American women and jobs. After then, the media has done everything in its power to denigrate Asian men. Sadly, it is effective. Asian men are the least desirable males in the Western world today, valued on par with Black women in terms of attractiveness.

Asian men are stereotyped as being submissive, effeminate, unattractive, and weak. Ironically, Asian ladies are highly desirable despite many of the characteristics that make Asian men unattractive. Many men find Asian women to be just as appealing as White women, if not more so. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Asian women are significantly more likely than Asian males to date someone of a different race.

The Desexualization Of Asian Men Has A Long History, and Here’s Why

The Desexualization Of Asian Men Has A Long History, and Here's Why

Asian men are generally perceived as someone being unattractive, small, weak, feminine, and submissive. And in the cis, heteronormative, white male patriarchy of the United States and Anglosphere, those traits are considered an anathema in men. And that’s why no one likes Asian guys because we directly oppose white toxic masculinity.

Ironically, Asian ladies are highly desirable despite many of the characteristics that make Asian men unattractive. When compared to White women, many men find Asian women to be equally as appealing, if not more so. Therefore it should come as no surprise that Asian women are far more likely than Asian males to date someone of a different race.

Believe it or not, White males harbor deep insecurities about Asian men’s manhood. From the building of transcontinental railroads to anti-miscegenation laws that forbade Asian men from marrying their precious Caucasian women, Asian men threaten the American male hierarchy.

Chinese railroad workers at the time were both respected and despised as men. Chinese males were expected to put in additional hours at lower pay. Naturally, this resulted in a decline in the economic worth of Chinese masculinity. However, despite this, White people’s anxiety over Chinese masculinity grew to the point that no only was it illegal for a white women to marry an Asian man, but she could even lose her American citizenship!

Hollywood Makes Sure No One Likes Asian Guys

Therefore, White media has done everything it can to devalue Asian men ever since and make sure no one likes Asian guys. Asian males will always be portrayed in the media as effeminate, frail, and lacking in self-assurance. And to brainwash everyone, they all employed the same marketing strategies. Right present, discrimination against Asian males has reached the stage where many people stereotype them without even recognizing it.

You only need to switch on your TV to see some type of prejudice towards Asian guys in a matter of minutes. even in the case of Asian women. It’s mostly extremely subtle. (Example: Hollywood frequently casts Asian males as characters who are unable to punch their way out of wet paper bags.) Additionally, celebrities like Arianna Grande have significantly more influence than well-known Asian women especially when it comes to Asian women.

At worst, many people have flat-out said on national TV “I’ll never date Asian men because they’re nerdy” or whatever it may be. Unfortunately, this is how stereotypes associated with Asian men become normalized. See, Americans on average watch ridiculous amounts of TV. They do it for many hours a day and many days a week. And that is how indoctrination occurs. That’s how people buy into all the cultural stereotypes as well as the sexual stereotypes associated with Asian men. And that’s how all those unflattering stereotypes depicting Asian men in general are formed.

It’s not all bad news, either. Fortunately, most of the preconceived notions about Asian males are unfounded. At best, they are overstated. To be fair, Asian males do have certain undesirable characteristics (at least in the Western world). But every other race also does. No one is aware of it since we simply don’t hear about it in the media.

Why Asian Guys Are Actually On A Roll Today

Asian males are starting to gain international mass appeal including white, black, and Hispanic women. So it’s no longer strictly true that no one likes Asian guys as there’s been a slight increase in Hollywood movies including Asian males as masculine. And more music genres, like K-pop, that highlight attractive Asian guys, are becoming much more popular globally. Consequently, the media are giving them more attention.

Additionally, Asian guys have a reputation for being highly diligent workers. They’ve always had high-paying occupations and will continue to do so. They have excellent financial judgment and are financially comfortable. Many people are unaware of the numerous appealing features that Asian men possess. Certain exceptions do exist, and not all Asian men are like that. But generally speaking, this is true.

On top of this, interracial dating between Asian men and non-Asian women is becoming more common. And people are starting to drift away from the media which is fantastic news for Asian men. Of course, Asian men stereotypes do exist and they likely won’t ever disappear. But it is great to see women becoming more open-minded and starting to give Asian men a chance.

The Differences Between Dating An Asian Guy VS A Caucasian Guy

The Differences Between Dating An Asian Guy Vs. A Caucasian Guy Or Males Of Other Races

Asian men are more likely to care for others. His ancestors taught him the “check motion” from the dawn of time. A habit formed over many years while observing his parents challenge their rivals to see who gets the check first at restaurants. Here, white men are much more likely to going Dutch. Since they come from a more “equal” society, they frequently let the lady pay.

The likelihood of Asian men living with their parents till marriage is significantly higher. And the reason for this is that they place a lot greater value on family and are expected to care for their parents while sharing a home. Living together with a romantic partner prior to marriage is often frowned upon for Asian males as well. So they typically wait till after marriage before moving out.

Contrary to popular belief, Asian men are not more polite. Since everyone differs, there isn’t a person who is more courteous than another. For instance, ‘taking care’ of those around them is highly valued in traditional Asian culture. It is quite disrespectful to do things like to serve yourself first at a meal and sit at the dinner table before an Asian person. But that is regarded as completely normal for a White or Caucasian person. This is a level playing field because there are so many other cultural distinctions among numerous ethnicities.

This in a way ties to the second anecdote and Asian guys do seek their parents approval. Of course Caucasian men do it as well, as men from other races. But Asian men are more likely to chase a career that will make their parents proud whereas a Caucasian male might chase a career to fulfill themselves.

There is a widespread misconception that Asian males are effeminate and don’t make the first move which contribute to why no one likes Asian guys. The fact is that Asian men engage in conversation, but it takes them longer to express their sentiments. Asian men’s parents instill the belief that the partner they choose for dating must also be the one they marry. And if they do go on dates, they are mocked. Asian guys are also instructed that they must already be successful before meeting someone. And all of this together explains why it takes them longer to act.

On the other hand, Caucasian males are advised to initially meet a lot of individuals. And when they find the right one, get married, and start a family, that’s when they consider things like finances and a long term relationship.

So Who Likes Asian Men?

I’m sure this is the million-dollar question on many Asian’s male’s minds. And many of you might be wondering “If no one likes Asian guys, then who is going to date me?” Or Maybe “Do White girls like me?” Or “Do Latinas like me?” Or “Do Black girls like Asian guys?” Or maybe “Do Asian women like me?”

And I get it. Asian guys are frequently depicted in the media as unattractive. As weak. As someone, no woman would want to be with. Of course, as mentioned above, this is slowly changing. But here’s the thing. Everything the media says is true, only if you allow it to be.

Yes, that’s right. The media can’t tell you you’re unattractive without your consent. They can’t tell you what to think without your consent. This sounds woo woo but your thoughts dictate your actions. So if you let the media get in your head and make you think you’re unattractive, you will do things that communicate all the ugly traits.

The truth is that many women would adore dating Asian men. The answer to this question consists of two parts. The first part: In general, Asian males will appeal to women who are looking for long-term companions. They are thought to have well-paying jobs and earn an average of incredibly high money since they are often well-educated. Additionally, they make excellent family men who are not prone to cheat. They are therefore excellent long-term spouses, to put it simply.

The second part of this question is that Asian men can attract any woman if they display all the right qualities. Yes, that’s correct. See, it doesn’t matter how the media depicts Asian men. That’s irrelevant. Now I get that the media has a huge impact on how people perceive Asian men. In fact, many women have bought into it, and unfortunately has left Asian men much less likely to be in a romantic involvement with a partner.

But here’s the thing. There are certain traits that attract all women, and a perfect example is confidence. Now you might be wondering “What does confidence even mean?” Take an Asian man for example. If he owns himself 100%, is proud of his upbringing and culture, his career. If he owns his interests even though they might not be popular in the Western world. In addition, he is a self-assured Asian man who is unafraid of attractive women. Now of course there are many other ways to define confidence, but that’s just an example to illustrate what confidence looks like.

So in a nutshell, if you’re able to present those traits that women find attractive in men, you can date women of any race. Regardless of your ethnicity, what you look like, and your interests, it doesn’t matter.

Don’t believe me? Take a look at me, my coaches, and my students. We’re all Asian so on the outside, you might think women don’t want us. But because we communicate all those attractive traits, it’s like the women don’t even notice our ethnicity. We still get the women even though the media loves to bring us down.

Ways You Can Level The Playing Field As An Asian Male When Dating

Now you might be wondering “Ok great, I can date any woman if I communicate all those attractive traits. But how do I start?” I actually go into more depth about this in another article but for now, here’s what you need to know.

  1. Don’t Try To Look More “Alpha” or To Look More “White.” Don’t dye your hair blonde and get blue contacts to try to look more White. Don’t get tattoos (unless they actually mean something to you) all over your body to try to look badass. In a nutshell, don’t do things to try to be someone you’re not. Women can pick up on the fact that guys are trying too hard to cover up their insecurities, and pretending to be someone they’re not.
  2. Be The Best Version Of Yourself. Now, this point might contradict the point above. Of course, you don’t want to try too hard, but at the same time, you want to be the best version of yourself. How do you do this? Get involved in sports and exercise. Go to the gym. You can dress better. Get a fresh haircut. You can go out, involved in activities, and meet other people. You could advance in your career. In simplest terms, you want to keep busy and do things that make you feel better.
  3. Ignore The Negative Media. While you can’t change your genetics and you can’t control how the media chooses to portray Asian men as, but you are in full control of yourself. You’re in full control of how you choose to respond to the media. And you’re in full control of the actions you take to better yourself every day. Don’t digest TV, social media and other sources of influence that would demean your self-confidence.
  4. Find Yourself An Asian Dating Coach. Why? Because Asian men dating problems are unique in the Western world. See, many dating instructors are very good and know what they’re doing. But many of them already have a lot of things going on for them. Many of them are White or Black. Many are over 6′ tall. And many of them are naturally charismatic people. So they don’t have as many challenges to overcome and therefore, might not understand how to overcome them. On the other hand, I have next to no ‘attractive traits’. (At least in the Western world). I’ve had to fight tooth and nail to achieve the dating life I’ve always wanted. And I can empathize with Asian men and their dating issues. I can empathize with Asian men when they tell me their self-confidence is low. I’ve been through all this and overcome them all. And I’ve taught thousands of Asian men to do the same thing.

So if I can do it. If my coaches can do it. And if my students can do it, there’s no reason why you can’t. There’s no reason why you can’t be the type of man women really want to be with. But the onus is on you to take action.

So are you going to be like most Asian men and settle for an average dating life, or worse, no dating life? Or are you going to use all the seeming disadvantages as fuel, to galvanize your game and prove to yourself you can attract women who make most men droll?

If you choose the later, make sure to share this article with your friends and check out this page if you want to find out more about my programs.

Dating can be an exciting and enjoyable experience, but it can also present its own set of difficulties and considerations which is why dating strategies for Asian men exist. Whether you’re new to dating or a seasoned pro, having a solid understanding of the dating process and having practical strategies for making the most of your limited time and resources is essential. It’s a challenge to balance real world considerations, not to mention real world obstacles like discrimination, with the desire to connect with a fellow human being on an authentic, emotional level.

Factors That Affect Dating

Several factors can affect dating as an Asian man, these include:

  1. Stereotypes and prejudices. Asian men may face stereotypes and prejudices, such as the “Asian fetish” stereotype. This usually means that Asian men as submissive or exotic. These stereotypes can have an impact on how potential partners perceive and treat Asian men.
  2. Cultural differences. There may be cultural differences in expectations of dating and relationships between Asian men and their potential partners. This may lead to misunderstandings or miscommunications.
  3. Language barriers. Language barriers can affect communication and understanding in a relationship.
  4. Family expectations. In many Asian cultures, the family plays a significant role in the lives of individuals. This means expectations from family can have a big impact on dating and relationships.
  5. Socio-Economic status. Socioeconomic status can play a role in the dating scene and can affect the opportunities and experiences of Asian men.
  6. Social norms. Social norms and expectations can also affect dating which leads to some pressure to conform to traditional gender roles or expectations.
  7. Personal values. Personal values can affect dating and may influence the types of relationships that Asian men are interested in pursuing.
  8. Personal identity. Personal identity and self-esteem can also be a factor. As Asian men may have a harder time expressing themselves and their desires in a relationship.

It’s important to note that these factors can vary depending on the individual and their specific experiences. It’s crucial to be aware of these potential challenges. You approach dating with an open mind, a willingness to learn, and respect for cultural differences.

10 Dating Strategies For Asian Men

Dating strategies for Asian men can be a difficult and nuanced subject to master. The main reason for this is that these dating experiences can be greatly influenced by a number of factors. Cultural background, upbringing, and personal preferences are examples of these. Many Asian men may find it beneficial to use similar dating techniques and strategies.

Dating strategies can vary depending on the individual and their specific goals and preferences, but some common strategies include:

  1. Embrace your Asian heritage and identity. Be confident in yourself and your culture, and don’t feel ashamed or apologetic about it. Being confident and assertive is one of the essential dating tactics for Asian men. This entails being confident in who you are and prepared to take the initiative in social settings. Although perceptions of Asian males as restrained or shy are common, it’s crucial to break through them. Reveal your actual self. Leadership and confidence can help you make a good first impression and attract potential partners.
  2. Be open to dating outside of your race or ethnicity. Expanding your dating pool can increase your chances of finding a compatible partner. Another important strategy for Asian men is to be open-minded and willing to try new things. This is being open to stepping outside your comfort zone and experiencing novel things. You can do that by approaching beautiful women of all races like Latina women, black women, and white women.
  3. Challenge stereotypes and prejudices. Recognize and address any stereotypes or prejudices that may be held against Asian men in the dating world. Asian males are frequently regarded in many Western nations as being quiet, ugly, and lacking in romantic and sexual acuity. As a result, Asian males may find it challenging to find romantic partners. Furthermore, they may have emotions of inadequacy and self-doubt.
  4. Be open-minded and sensitive to cultural differences. Understand and respect different expectations of dating and relationships in different cultures. It enables you to connect with potential partners who come from diverse backgrounds and have varied experiences.
  5. Communicate clearly and honestly. Be clear about your intentions, feelings, and boundaries, and be open to hearing your partner’s thoughts and perspectives. Communication is also key when it comes to dating. This means being clear and upfront about your intentions, your feelings, and your boundaries. It is also important to be open to hearing your partner’s thoughts and perspectives. Clear and honest communication can help to avoid any confusion or misunderstandings and build a stronger foundation for the relationship.Indicators of Interest
  6. Be patient and take things slow. Many Asian cultures place a strong emphasis on building a strong foundation before committing to a long-term relationship. Rushing into a relationship can be a recipe for disaster. Before committing to anything long-term, it’s critical to spend time getting to know the person you’re interested in order to establish a solid foundation.
  7. Be yourself, Be genuine and authentic. Be true to yourself, and don’t try to be someone you’re not.
  8. Be respectful. Show respect for your partner, their family, and their culture. In addition, it is important for Asian men to be respectful and considerate when interacting with potential partners. This means treating people with kindness and empathy and being willing to listen and learn from others. By showing respect and consideration, you can build stronger connections and create a more positive and fulfilling dating experience.
  9. Be open to learning and growing through the relationship. Be open to learning from your partner and from the relationship.
  10. Show genuine interest in their culture and try to learn more about it. Show your interest and try to understand their culture and background.

Find Or Make Your Own Dating Strategies For Asian Men

Overall, Asian guys should be assertive, considerate, and open-minded in order to succeed in the dating market. Asian men can overcome any obstacles and succeed in their dating lives by implementing these tactics.  Ultimately, the best strategy will depend on your own preferences and what you feel most comfortable with.

It’s the worst kept secret that, in the Western world, it’s much more difficult for Asian men to learn how to be more attractive to women. Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t stem from the internalized racist belief that Asian masculinity is in any way inferior, but the effect of institutional racist systems where statistics do show that more than 90% of non-Asian women exclude Asian men.

But here’s the thing, YOU have the power to change your reality. You don’t have to let the media get in your head. You don’t have to let past experiences dictate what your relationship status looks like. You can date and have meaningful relationships with any woman you want, be she Asian, black, Latina or white.

Like many Asian American men who don’t fit into the Eurocentric standard of male beauty, I had to learn how to be more attractive to woman. I’m only 5’5′ tall, which is short for a man in the Western world.  The online dating website, eHarmony, booted me out because I was too analytical and cerebral. My first kiss didn’t happen until I was 20 years old. I could have let that turn me bitter, but instead it motivated me to learn how to become my best, most confident self, and now I’m the world’s #1 Asian Dating Coach.

And I’ve learned how to replicate my romantic success with others. I’ve taught students how to be more attractive to women in spite (or because) of being short and Asian. My students have all started dating beautiful women of all races. And many times they’ve gotten married and have even started a family (Many of my students have invited me to their weddings). I dare say many of my students struggle with similar challenges as you do.

So if THEY can do it, YOU can do it.

Society’s Perspective On Asian Men

But look there’s no denying the fact that stereotypes against Asian men are very real. People see us as weak, nerdy, foreign or effeminate. People see us as either Bruce Lee or a Chinese food delivery man. In layman’s terms, nobody sees Asian men as masculine, confident, or attractive. It doesn’t mean we Asian men AREN’T attractive, but rather Western society has made us APPEAR unattractive to women.

And it’s true that Asian women have similar qualities. But because that fits into the Western ideal of beauty because women are much more desirable when they act feminine. Hence Asian women are both elevated and objectified in the Western world (this is called Asian Fetishization). Unfortunately, those traits in a man are a turn-off in terms of Western masculine beauty. And this is why so many women find Asian men unattractive.

Even Asian women are refusing to date Asian men. In fact, 40% of Asian women refused to date Asian men whereas less than 10% of Asian men stated they would not date an Asian woman (At least in the initial stages like first impressions on online dating sites).

The dating problem for Asian men got even worse when COVID or “The China Virus” first broke out. Hate crimes against Asians skyrocketed including verbal, social and physical attacks. That’s how people saw Asian people: as walking diseases. And that was the lowest point for Asian men. On top of having all those stereotypes, people now saw us as walking diseases who didn’t deserve to live much less socialize, romance, and love their daughters and be part of their families.

10 Ways Asian Men Can Learn How To Be More Attractive To Women

So in the USA, it is tougher for Asian men to be successful in dating (not all Asian men obviously, but for a lot of us). And I get that it’s much more tempting to throw in the towel and accept whatever you’re given as your reality (Unfortunately, Asian men are 35% likely to be unpartnered as opposed to Asian women at 18%). But this statistic doesn’t have to be you.

In fact, here are 10 things you need to do right now if you want to improve your dating life if you learn how to be more attractive to women:

1) Embrace Your Asian Male Identity

Asian men are often raised to value education and career success, leading them to tie their identity to their achievements and material possessions. While these traits can be attractive (Asian men on average earn 117% more money than the average White man), they can also lead to being viewed as a “human wallet” by women.

To learn how to be more attractive to women, Asian men should explore their identity beyond their career and net worth. Finding unique interests and hobbies, such as K-pop, live music, fashion, or athletics, can make them stand out and showcase their individuality. Additionally, these interests can provide a deeper sense of self-worth beyond work and material possessions.

As an Asian man, embracing your culture is a great way to show confidence and pride in who you are. Many Asian cultures have rich traditions and customs that can be shared and celebrated with others. This can range from learning music, dance, martial arts, cooking, or even language. Sharing your culture with others can be a great conversation starter and showcase your unique background. It also allows you to connect with other people who share the same culture and build a sense of community.

Additionally, embracing your culture can also be a way to challenge stereotypes and break the mold of what it means to be an Asian man. Society often has limited and limiting views of Asian men, and by embracing your culture, you can showcase the diversity and complexity of the Asian identity. It also sends a message of self-love and self-acceptance, which can be very attractive to others.

So what I advocate is for Asian men to go out there and find other interests and styles. It could be K-pop, art, sports or learning how to play music. It could mean suiting up or taking up athletics and dressing athletically. The point is to find interests and styles outside of work so you have other identities which make you unique to women.

2) Give Yourself Permission To Date Outside Your Race

Allowing yourself to date outside of your race can open up a whole new world of dating opportunities. Many Asian men are raised with the belief that they should only date within their own race, which can limit their experiences and perspectives. By giving yourself permission to explore relationships with people of different races, you can learn about different cultures and broaden your understanding of the world. It also allows you to break free from traditional expectations and forge your own path.

However, it is important to keep in mind that dating outside of your race can come with its own set of challenges, especially if you come from a traditional family. It’s important to communicate openly with your family about your choices and to be understanding of their perspectives. Additionally, it’s important to remember to be respectful and considerate of your partner’s culture and experiences. Ultimately, the most important thing is to follow your own feelings and desires, as long as it does not harm yourself or others.

3) Ignore Hollywood And All Negative Media

It can be difficult to ignore the negative stereotypes and portrayals of Asian men in Hollywood and media, but it is important to remember that these are not an accurate representation of reality. A simple way to start is by cutting out TV and limiting your exposure to these harmful messages. When we watch TV, we become desensitized to the messages and start to believe everything we see and hear, even if it is not true.

Another way to limit exposure to negative portrayals is by avoiding online spaces that propagate harmful stereotypes. This includes incel or white dominated manosphere groups on platforms like Reddit, 4Chan, and the like which often contain racist, sexist and misogynistic rhetoric. These groups can be toxic and can lead to internalizing harmful beliefs (i.e. Only muscular Asian who act Caucasian can be successful with women) about oneself. It’s important to surround yourself with positive and diverse perspectives, and that includes being selective about the online communities you engage with.

Instead of watching TV or engaging in negative online spaces, try finding other ways to spend your free time that are more fulfilling and positive, such as socializing, exercising, or spending time on creatively and emotionally stimulating activities like community and charity work. It’s not easy and it will take time and effort, but it’s worth it in the long run. By cutting out negative media, you’ll find yourself feeling more positive and confident in yourself.

4) Get Involved In Physical Activities

Physical activity is a great way to improve your overall health and well-being, both physically and mentally. It can be anything from going to the gym, practicing martial arts, running, or taking a brisk walk. The key is to move your body and maintain an active lifestyle. Not only does it improve your state of mind, but it also improves your body language and energy level, making you more attractive to women.

Exercising has many benefits, such as improving your state of mind and releasing endorphins, which can make you feel better and more confident. Additionally, regular physical activity can increase your sexual market value to women by improving your body language, posture, and overall physical appearance. This can make you more attractive and confident in social interactions, especially when it comes to dating.

Unfortunately, many Asian men struggle with physical activity and have poor body language, which can contribute to the stereotype of Asian men being weak and effeminate. However, this can be improved with consistent effort and commitment to physical activity.

It’s important to note that physical activity should not be focused on conforming to Eurocentric standards of male beauty, which over-emphasize muscular development. Also, it is not necessary to internalize the racist belief that Asian men have to look and act more white to be attractive. Each person has their own unique characteristics and beauty. The focus should be on feeling good about yourself, developing a healthy lifestyle and feeling good in your own skin.

It’s also important to note that when you first start working out, you may not see immediate results. But you will notice an immediate change in your mood and mental state, which can lead to physical changes over time. So don’t give up, stay consistent, and focus on how you feel, not just how you look.

5) Improve Your Sexual Market Value Like Your Fashion Sense

Some Asian American men often struggle with fashion and hairstyle, which can negatively impact their sexual market value. However, it is important to remember that fashion and style is something that can be improved upon. Improving your fashion sense can make you appear more attractive and confident in social interactions, especially when it comes to dating.

One simple way to improve your fashion sense is to start with your haircut. A bowl cut can make you appear stereotypical and outdated, especially in a Westernized country. Consider a hairstyle that is modern and versatile such as a fauxhawk. It strikes a balance between looking fresh, unique and interesting versus a two block cut which automatically sets you up as foreign born.

Another key aspect of fashion is clothing. It’s important to invest in clothes that fit well and are tailored to your body. This can make a big difference in how you look, and can make a $40 suit look like a $1000+ suit. It’s also important to pay attention to color and to add a pop of color to your wardrobe. This can make you stand out and appear more unique, without looking strange.

It’s important to note that improving your fashion sense doesn’t mean you have to break the bank buying designer clothes. It’s more about finding clothes that fit well and flatter your body shape, and experimenting with different styles and colors.

And most importantly, it’s important to avoid the belief that one has to conform to Eurocentric standards of beauty, which may not always be the best fit for Asian men. You can go for a KPop look, or suited up, or athletic, or even badboy. The point is to not limit yourself but rather to identify and embrace the best sexual Asian masculinity for you in order to learn how to be more attractive to women.

6) Go Out And Meet Women Both In The Daytime And Nighttime

For Asian men, going out and socializing with women in real-life settings can be incredibly beneficial in overcoming stereotypes and improving their dating prospects. One of the key advantages of approaching women in real-life is that it allows you to overcome the stereotypes that are often associated with Asian men, such as being seen as meek or unconfident. By putting yourself out there and interacting with women in person, you can demonstrate your confidence and show that you are not limited by these stereotypes.

Another benefit of approaching women in real-life is that it can help improve your social skills so you learn how to be more attractive to women. Meeting and interacting with women in different environments, such as during the day or at night, can help you develop a variety of social skills that will come in handy when it comes to dating. This can include learning how to read social cues, how to make small talk, and how to build connections with people.

Additionally, by going out and socializing in real-life, you are also increasing your dating pool. You will have more opportunities to meet women, which can increase your chances of finding someone you are interested in. By putting yourself in different environments and social settings, you will also be exposed to different types of women, which can help you find someone who is a good match for you.

It’s important to remember that both daytime and nighttime approaches have their pros and cons, and it’s best to approach with a holistic mindset. By approaching women in different scenarios, you’ll become more confident and less hesitant in approaching women in the future. Additionally, it’s important to not go out with the sole intention of finding “the one”, but rather to have fun and enjoy the process of meeting new people and expanding your social circle.

7) If You’re Self-conscious Of Your Accent, Consider Taking Accent Reduction Classes

If you’re an Asian man who was born in Asia, it’s likely that you speak with an accent. While this is out of your control, it can sometimes lead to communication difficulties and misunderstandings. Unfortunately, there are some stereotypes associated with certain Asian accents, such as being considered unattractive or even effeminate, like the Vietnamese accent being so tonal and “sing-songy.” I say this as a Vietnamese American myself and I understand the stereotypes that racists levy against us.

However, it’s important to note that other Asian accents might be considered neutral or even attractive. If you feel that your accent is holding you back in social or professional settings, or if you feel that people are having trouble understanding you, you may want to consider taking accent reduction classes.

Many students I have coached have reported significant improvement in their accent after taking classes, and have gone from having a noticeable accent to sounding like native speakers in a short period of time. This can be especially beneficial if you are in a long-term interracial relationship, where communication and understanding can play a crucial role.

REMEMBER: Accent reduction classes are NOT about changing who you are or your identity. They are about helping you communicate more effectively and reduce any potential barriers that may exist due to your accent. If you’re self-conscious about your accent and want to learn how to be more attractive to women, accent reduction classes may be a great option for you.

8) Partake in American Hobbies & Pop Culture To Understand And Relate To It

This point is particularly relevant for foreign-born Asians, but it can also apply to all Asians. One of the most important things you can do is to explore and find other interests besides your career or social bubble. This can include hobbies such as wine tasting, joining theater classes, attending music festivals, watching comedy shows or joining meet-up groups and meeting new people. The key is to find activities that align with your interests and passions.

Participating in common hobbies, watching popular TV shows and pop culture is a great way to learn more about the American zeitgeist and to better understand the perspective of those around you. It’s easy to get caught up in your own bubble, especially as an Asian man who may face discrimination in Western society. But, it’s crucial to remember that not everyone discriminates against Asian men and by staying open-minded and learning about other cultures, you’ll become a more interesting and attractive person.

Additionally, by engaging with American groups and pop culture, you’ll be able to relate to others more easily, making it easier to form connections and build relationships so you can learn how to be more attractive to women. You’ll also be able to better understand the perspectives of those around you, which can help to reduce any potential misunderstandings or cultural barriers.

Embracing other cultures doesn’t mean you need to give up your own identity. Instead, it’s about understanding different perspectives, which will ultimately make you a more well-rounded and adaptable person. So, go out there and try new things, meet new people, and expand your understanding of the world around you.

9) Learn To Be More Emotionally Expressive

This is also something Asian men universally struggle with. It’s known as the Asian poker face. But don’t mistake learning to be more emotionally expressive means you have to become overly dramatic or fake a smile. It’d doesn’t.

It’s about finding a balance and learning to express your emotions in a way that feels authentic to you. By being more expressive with your body language and facial expressions, you’ll come across as more approachable, open, and confident. This can help you build deeper connections with others and make it easier to connect with potential partners.

One way to start being more expressive is to pay attention to your body language. Make sure to maintain good posture, make eye contact, and use open gestures. You can also practice smiling more, even if it feels unnatural at first. Smile at strangers, friends, and family. The more you practice, the more natural it will become.

Another way to become more expressive is to start expressing your emotions verbally. Share your thoughts and feelings with those around you. This can be difficult for those who are used to bottling up their emotions, but with practice, it will become easier. Remember, expressing your emotions is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength and vulnerability. It allows others to connect with you on a deeper level and builds trust.

In short, learning to be more emotionally expressive can help you break out of the Asian poker face stereotype and build deeper connections with others, including potential partners. It’s not an easy task, but with practice and patience, you can improve your emotional expressiveness and become a more attractive and approachable person.

While same race relationships are the norm, we know that stereotypes against Asian men are plentiful and so it’s reasonable to ask, “Can an Asian guy can date a white girl?” Given the rarity of relationships between Asian men and white women (AMWF) in general, we can assume that there are some barriers to the dating success of Asian men.

The dating culture of Asian Americans is fairly complex and requires a nuanced approach to try to understand such complex, and emotionally charged, topic. Numerous reasons, including entrenched racism within the Asian community and societal racism, are to blame for the low number of Asian men dating, but I also want to discuss HOW Asian men can be empowered to date whomever they want both in terms of quantity and quality of their dating partners.

Obstacles in Interracial Dating

The widespread racism that exists in society toward AMWF couples is one reason why such partnerships may not be common. This includes not only the media and Hollywood, which frequently reinforce unfavorable stereotypes and underrepresent AMWF partnerships.  Any racism and small-minded remarks that AMWF couples can encounter from others also contribute to this factor. For instance, white males may feel intimidated by Asian men’s perceived appeal to white women. Having said that, white men may act envious of or aggressive toward AMWF couples while in public (whether through microaggressions, verbal insults, and even physical harm).

Another factor that may hinder AMWF relationships is internalized racism and discrimination among the Asian community. Some Asians may have the notion that white people are superior. They think that they may forbid their own children from dating someone of a different race. In  Relationships, one’s sense of identity, and a person’s self-esteem can all suffer from internalized racism.

There may be restricting views that Asian males hold about their personal chances of meeting white women in addition to institutional and internalized racism. Some Asian men could feel that white women won’t find them attractive or competent enough to date. With this in mind, they might think that white women aren’t interested in dating Asian guys. All these negative, restricting ideas may prevent Asian males from seeking relationships with white women.

In AMWF relationships, cultural disparities between Asian men and white women might be problematic. Communication styles, family beliefs, and social conventions are just a few examples of these disparities that may exist. Some research indicates that AMWF couples are more likely to divorce than couples of the same race. It’s crucial for couples to be open and understanding of each other’s origins. Striving towards establishing a strong foundation of mutual respect and understanding is also needed. You should note that cultural differences do not always mean that AMWF relationships are bound to fail.

AMWF relationships are often hampered by social clout and influence. Asian men might think they have a lesser standing in social status than white guys. This is the reason why they might be less optimistic about their chances of dating white women. Furthermore, some white women can find themselves drawn to men of a better social standing and be less inclined to consider dating Asian men as a result.

The racism and various forms of microaggression that Asian males may experience from others are one of the main barriers to AMWF partnerships. This can involve exclusion or prejudice hereby Asian men are not included or invited to social gatherings and events where meeting women and dating is the norm. For instance, because of their race, Asian males may be overlooked for jobs or promotions. In addition to that, they may get discriminatory treatment in social or professional contexts.

Asian men may encounter social isolation as a dating barrier, especially if they are immigrants or the children of immigrants. An immigrant’s experiences can be isolating – making it difficult for Asian men to connect with others and form relationships. Language barriers, cultural differences, and other obstacles can make it difficult for Asian men to feel a sense of belonging or connection with others.

While societal racism and internalized racism within the Asian community may discourage AMWF relationships, there are also many Asian men who actively fight against these barriers and pursue the relationships they want.

In the face of societal racism, Asian men may challenge negative stereotypes and representation in the media and Hollywood. They can create their own content by amplifying the voices of Asian men and AMWF couples. They may also stand up against racism and microaggressions that they encounter in their daily lives.  Advocating for equal treatment and representation should also be they key.

In order to combat internalized racism within the Asian community, Asian men should educate their family members and neighbors about the negative effects of racism. Instilling self-esteem and self-worth in the Asian community can also help fight internal racism.

Finally, Asian men should seek resources and support from therapists or dating coaches who are trained in cross-cultural communication. This will help them navigate cultural differences in AMWF relationships. They may also collaborate with their partners to establish a solid foundation of mutual understanding and respect. It is also important that they should be open and honest about their own cultural backgrounds and experiences.

However, with the recent influx of KPop and Kdrama, as well as the burgeoning Asian American influencer scene, Asian men’s social status has increased in a small but significant way. Hollywood is also recognizing and casting more Asian American actors in prominent roles. It is helpful in dispelling negative stereotypes and raising awareness of AMWF relationships. Asian men can overcome this barrier and pursue the relationships they desire by embracing their own cultural identities. Increasing their own social influence could also help.

To overcome this barrier, Asian men can take action to confront racism and microaggressions. It’s important for Asian men to be proactive in meeting women and taking action to build relationships. Speaking out against racism and advocating for equal treatment and representation for Asian men and AMWF couples can also help. It may also entail seeking resources and assistance from organizations or communities dedicated to combating racism and promoting social justice. Asian men can build confidence and resilience and pursue the relationships they want without fear of discrimination.

From Discrimination to Devotion: Overcoming Obstacles in AMWF Relationships

To summarize, there are several obstacles that may discourage Asian men from pursuing relationships with white women. However, there are many Asian men who actively work to overcome these barriers and pursue the relationships they desire. Asian men can improve their chances of finding love and happiness by taking calculated risks. It’s important to remember that confidence is important as it appeals to everyone, regardless of ethnicity or gender. By embracing their Asian identity, being open to seeking help, and taking care of themselves, Asian men can build the confidence and resilience needed to navigate the dating scene and find the love they deserve.
